Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was an actress on television, ex-chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. She is the host of Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and also serves as the host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network celebrity with her signature spiky blonde hair and a pumped up personality reveals easy techniques to master and reduces anxiety about restaurant food in her show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell also has worked in the top New York restaurants, has studied Italian cuisine and its traditions as well as was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step when she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English as well as Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. She states "I was a huge Culinary Institute of America student. I loved every minute of it." I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't do enough couldn't work hard enough. When I graduated at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and Chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy doing research and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star in Tuscany. During her time in Italy she came to comprehend and appreciate the philosophy of Italian food and culture that left a lasting impact from a culinary viewpoint. Burrell was a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten children living with obstacles and is also an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she is an advocate for juvenile diabetes awareness. As a guest speaker and teacher she travels across the U.S. to share her love for cooking and profession. Anne has always been grateful she had the opportunity to share her love that she had for and her passion for cooking, with people around the world.
